I love this question so much. You know why? It doesn't matter.
Sometimes dubs are good, and sometimes subs are better. It all depends on the show. I think it's very naive to say that all subs are better because that's the original language or dubs suck or whatever.
I also think it's silly to hate subs because you don't understand what they're saying. I believe it all depends on the particular sounds of the voice actors. For example, Angel Beats!
Is an amazing anime, but the dub is so horrible it makes me want to scratch my ears out. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is (in my opinion) hands down the best english dub out there, but I can't stand the sub because Edward sounds like a girl (which his VA is) and the actual girls sound really high pitched. But in the end, it all depends on the individual watcher and their perspective on voice acting.
Personally, I love some of the voices in the Code Geass dub, but there are a few voices that drive me off the wall. I had to watch it subbed.
I watch dubbed occasionally. I like subbed better though. At first dubbed was the only kind I would watch, but then I started watching subbed.
For example, I watched Inuyasha dubbed. About a year later I watched it subbed. I then watched some funny moments in inuyasha (on YouTube) dubbed, and discovered how annoying Kagomes voice was.
Same thing happened with D. Gray Man....and Bleach. I think Code Gease dubbed is fine.
I actually started watching it that way, but there were to many spoilers in the comments so I ended up watching it subbed. Hope that made sense! EDIT: also, the voices don't always fit the character.
Honestly, I tend to just watch whichever version (sub or dub) is better quality. If I start watching something dubbed, and have to switch to subbed, I automatically hate the voices because I'm not used to them. I try to stick to what I start with.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
